In celebration of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST)’s 35th anniversary, the Development and Alumni Office and the HKUST Convocation co-organized the inaugural HKUST Pioneers Summer Camp on July 18–19, 2026. The full-weekend event brought together around 400 alumni, families, and friends for a dynamic experience filled with energy, laughter, and discovery across the Clear Water Bay campus. The memorable celebration was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Mr. Terry TSANG.

The camp commenced with a diverse lineup of activities, featuring an engaging Opening Dialogue with HKUST President Prof. Nancy IP, alongside inspiring talks and hands-on STEAM & AI workshops tailored for participants of all ages. Attendees also enjoyed a variety of experiences, including campus tours, yoga sessions, coffee and wine tastings, and electrifying live band performances.

To enhance the reunion experience, participants enjoyed an overnight stay at the newly opened student residential complex, Jockey Club i-Village. The camp concluded with an insightful lecture by Prof. King LI, HKUST Founding Dean of Medicine, followed by a graduation ceremony where Prof.  LI presented certificates to the participating children in recognition of their enthusiastic involvement.

The inaugural camp provided a wonderful opportunity for the alumni community to deeply reconnect, while witnessing firsthand the University’s latest developments and remarkable growth over the past 35 years.
