The HKUST 35th Alumni Get-together in Shanghai was successfully held at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) Shanghai Center (Beiyang Base) on June 7, 2026. About 200 alumni and guests came together to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the University along with our senior management, commemorating this historic milestone together.
The celebration kicked off with opening remarks by HKUST Council Chairman Prof. Harry SHUM, highlighting the University’s key milestones and the lasting impact of its alumni. Provost Prof. Yike GUO spotlighted the Shanghai Center as the alumni’s “home” in the Yangtze River Delta, driving industry-education integration and innovation incubation. Prof. Charles NG, Vice-President for Institutional Advancement, shared HKUST’s latest developments and 35th anniversary projects, and warmly invited alumni worldwide to the Gala Dinner on November 28, 2026.

Highlighting the community's strong unity, Ms. Tracy LIU, President of the HKUST Shanghai Alumni Association, shared an update on the association’s work, while the senior management presented certificates of appreciation to executive members for their dedicated service.
The event concluded with guests placing wish capsules into the wish box, cutting the birthday cake, and toasting together to celebrate HKUST’s 35th anniversary, followed by a sing-along of the HKUST anthem.
