The Dean of Students’ Office and the HKUST Fok Ying Tung Graduate School are co-organising the HKUST 35A Sports Day on 10 October 2026, featuring three signature activities: Discovery Swim, Dragon Boat Regatta, and Soccer Festival. These events form part of the University’s 35th Anniversary celebrations, providing an opportunity to showcase the spirit, teamwork, and unity of the HKUST community.
1. HKUST Discovery Swim (暢泳科大游)

Time: 9:00 am – 10:00 am
Enjoy yourself in an exhilarating 800m open-water swim along the stunning HKUST waterfront. This signature event offers participants a unique opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the campus coastline while embodying the spirit of exploration and discovery that defines HKUST.
Eligibility: All HKUST students, staff, and alumni
Quota: 35 participants.
2. HKUST Soaring Dragon Boat Regatta (騰龍競渡匯科大)
Date: Oct 10, 2026
Time: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Experience the excitement of the HKUST Soaring Dragon Boat Regatta, featuring competitive 200m races that showcase teamwork, coordination, and determination. Teams will compete in qualifying heats and final ranking races for the Premier Championship and Trophy Challenge titles, with each team guaranteed at least two qualifying races and one ranking race.
Team Composition: 12–18 participants (including at least 2 female paddlers). A helmsman will be provided.
Quota: 16 teams.
3. HKUST Green Gathering: Soccer Festival (綠茵飛揚薈科大)

Bring your passion to the pitch at the HKUST Green Gathering: Soccer Festival! Feel the thrill of the game as students, staff, alumni, and our HKUST(GZ) family unite on the field. This is more than just a match; it's a celebration of football, friendship, and the enduring spirit of HKUST, promising a memorable experience filled with energetic play and heartfelt reunions.
Team Composition: 20 players per team.
Quota: 4 teams by invitation and nomination (1 student team, 1 staff team, 1 alumni football team, 1 HKUST(GZ) team)
