Venue: HKUST & HKUST(GZ) Campuses
HKUST’s Clear Water Bay and Guangzhou campuses share a bold, future-shaping spirit that drives their joint commitment to using AI to benefit society. As part of the University’s 35th Anniversary, this shared vision comes to life through three cross-campus initiatives under the AI for Society Campaign.
The first initiative, the AI for Society Student Academic Competition, brings together students from both campuses to explore topics such as the global movement AI for Good and the governance of AI in society. The finalists will present their research at the SCSI Summit under the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence.
The second initiative, AI for Society Research Week, convenes AI experts, industry leaders, and faculty for deep discussions on how AI can address social challenges. This week-long program features a series of high-level workshops on AI ethics and governance, alongside seminars highlighting domain-specific applications. Notably, the event is prefaced by the Global Leaders Forum, which gathers international visionaries to forge a strategic vision and actionable framework for the future of higher education in the AI era.
The third initiative, AI for Society Local Commitment, coordinates the donation of AI-based equipment by UGOD Thrust to charitable organizations in Hong Kong and Nansha District, Guangzhou, supporting elderly residents and patients.
Join us and experience how both campuses are shaping a smarter, more human centered future — an anniversary celebration you won’t want to miss.
