In celebration of the University’s 35th anniversary, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) successfully hosted ACM MobiCom 2025—the 31st edition of the International Conference on Mobile Computing and Networking—from November 4 to 8, 2025. The event brought together more than 520 prominent academics, industry professionals, researchers, and students from the global mobile computing and networking community.
As the premier conference of ACM SIGMOBILE, MobiCom focuses on the networks, systems, algorithms, and applications that power mobile computers and wireless networks. This year’s event marked a significant milestone, representing the conference’s return to China after 16 years, following its last appearance in Beijing in 2009.
The conference kicked off with warm welcome remarks delivered by HKUST Provost Prof. GUO Yike. The university's faculty members spearheaded the organization of this milestone event, with Prof. LI Mo (Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Division of Integrative Systems and Design) serving as the General Co-Chair, and Prof. ZHANG Qian (Tencent Professor of Engineering, Head of the Division of Integrative Systems and Design, and Chair Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering) serving as Vice General Chair.
MobiCom 2025 featured a rich and diverse program, highlighted by two keynote speeches, SIGMOBILE Award talks, and 76 regular papers from the main conference track. The agenda also included two journal-track presentations selected from ACM Transactions on Internet of Things, the largest-ever poster and demo session, and an exciting workshop day comprising 12 workshops and a tutorial session.
The multi-day event concluded as a resounding success, providing an excellent platform for participants to exchange ideas and foster global collaborations in the areas of mobile computing and wireless networking.
