2026 Jobs and Development Conference (#JobsandDev) brings together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to share global insights on jobs, labor markets, and inclusive development.
Hosted by the HKUST Institute for Emerging Market Studies (IEMS) as part of HKUST’s 35th anniversary celebrations, the two-day event underscores the University’s role as a global hub for dialogue on economic transformation.
The Conference is honored to welcome Professor Justin Yifu LIN, Dean of the Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University, and Professor Uta SCHÖNBERG of the Faculty of Business and Economics at The University of Hong Kong as keynote speakers.
Co-organized with the World Bank, United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER), and the International Labour Organization (ILO), and in partnership with leading research institutes such as the University of Cape Town’s Development Policy Research Unit (DPRU) and Poland’s Institute for Structural Research, the conference offers a prestigious platform for high-level exchange.
