As part of HKUST’s 35th Anniversary celebrations, the Future Smart and Sustainable Cities Forum brought together over 200 experts from academia, government, and industry to explore urban innovation and sustainability. The flagship event featured a dynamic programme of keynote presentations, panel discussions, demonstrations, and poster displays, highlighting cutting-edge research and practical applications in smart city development. Distinguished international scholars shared global perspectives, while senior government officials and industry leaders engaged in discussions on policy directions, technological advancements, and implementation strategies.
Participants also experienced innovative solutions developed by HKUST research teams and partner organisations. Supported by government departments and leading engineering and sustainability companies, the forum facilitated collaboration, idea exchange, and partnership-building, contributing to progress in urban planning and design and advancing the development of smarter, more sustainable cities worldwide.
