To celebrate HKUST’s 35th anniversary, the HKUST Shanghai Center is launching a dynamic two-part arts program that spotlights creativity, innovation, and cross-regional collaboration.
One Week — Tech × Art Exhibition
In early August 2026, HKUST will partner with Prof. Huamin Qu to present a forward-looking Tech × Art showcase at the West Bund near HKUST Shanghai Center. The exhibition highlights groundbreaking intersections between culture and emerging technology, reflecting the creative energies of both Shanghai and Hong Kong.
One Night — The Phantom of the Opera Ballet
On August 6, 2026, the Shanghai Ballet brings its acclaimed ballet adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera to the Shanghai International Dance Center Grand Theater. This imaginative reinterpretation features choreography by Derek Deane, music by Carl Davis, and an award-winning design.
